The Dragon Slayer

For Writing we had to watch a video about a dragon slayer and we had to write about what he looks like, his personality and his job.

and this is what i did...

            The Dragon Slayer

                         WALT: Plan and write a descriptive piece of writing.

• Brainstorm words you could use.
• know what your story is going to be about
• organize my ideas into what could be written into a paragraph
• ordered my ideas so that the paragraphs make sense

         Task one: plan a descriptive piece of writing to explain the character of         

         Tarragon.

Looks Like: Strong, brown hair, Big sharp nose, muscular arms, helmet with horns, big mouth, small beady eyes, huge neck, big fingers, strong legs, has a flat head,

Personality: Mean, Angry, loud, grumpy, strong, tough, not afraid of dragons has a big heart, has a soft spot, rude,

Job: To slay dragons, kills lots of dragons, gave up his job for the baby dragon 19 kills, adds a mark to  shield every times he kills,  

Synonyms:

Brave: confident, courageous, fearless, heroic, daredevil

Strong: powerful, muscular, fit, tough, athletic

Kind: Kind hearted, caring, good natured, good-hearted, friendly

Caring: warm hearted, tender, loving, kind, kind hearted

Mean: rude, unkind, mean spirited, greedy, selfish

                      

ANZAC: Dulce et decorum est

For writing we have been reconstructing a poem following the structure of Dulce et decorum est by Wilfred Owen.
Miss Hooper read us instructions and we constructed  our poem about ANZAC and the war.

Here is my poem:

A soldiers story

We trudged  through the mud cold, week and wounded.

The muds leaking into our boots the trenches are in terrible condition,

I have a terrible pain in my chest, finally i get to safety where i can rest

I was still in pain, i finally got away from the front line.

The men were wounded and have scratches and scars

Ripped clothes and dirty boots, they walked as if they had only just learnt.

We step past the dead and wounded, bullet shells scattered all over the floor.

I feel pain in my limbs i'm surrounded by my fellow mates.

“GAS!” I scream “put your Gas masks on”!

Our hands are shaking we fumble around putting our masks on  

We are all successful but one man is to slow

and drops his mask the gas starts to enter his lungs.

The gas is thick now it's a dirty green colour it's difficult to see the other men all i can barely see the ground.

The man without the mask come limping towards me,

The gas is filling his lungs but there's nothing i can do i know he's a goner.

His face is pale as we put him in the wagon we can tell he's in terrible pain

his eyes are almost rolled back into his eyelids

his arms are still flailing around he's moving about his face is scratched up,

All of us know hes a gonner.

The terrable sound of blood gurgling in his mouth,

The bubbling sound of blood forced up from his lungs,

The mucus coming out from his insides,

Its the sound that no one wants to hear.

If have experanced the horrors that i have seen

You would never tell a word to younge childeren,

“Its amazing to fight and die for your counery”

These are the nightmare i will forever remember.

Instafood

At the start of the year we had to choose an image off the internet and make up/ write about what they taste like and smell like.

It's kawaii and it has cute animal faces some are white and others are yellow and brown. There is also a little pink pig on the top!

Take a nibble out of these kawaii donuts and taste the amazing flavors! These animal donuts have a variety of flavors strawberry, chocolate and more! Taste the icing it’s DELICIOUS!  

The donuts are scrumptious with a strawberry milk shake from StarBucks!

Home Work

For the past to weeks we have had to make a static image or a collage of a poppy field for anzac day!

ANZAC Art

For ANZAC art we had to make a silhouette of soldiers we did this by...
- Finding a photo of a soldier and printing it 
- cutting out the image 
- glueing on to black paper
- cutting out again 
- glueing the black cut out of paper onto white paper
- then gluing the black outline onto white paper  

Author's purpose

We had to make a powtoon for our reading, we had to do it about author's purpose, P.i.e Persuade, inform and entertain. it was fun making our powtoon we also had to remember what they P.i.e meant.
